What makes Jessica’s support unique?

Jessica Palmquist Turquoise Compass Wellness

Experienced Mentor and Trainer
As an experienced full-spectrum doula, she mentors those pursuing certification as doulas, as well as practitioners launching their own wellness or doula-based businesses. Jessica also hosts educational webinars and is frequently invited as a guest on podcasts to share her expertise and perspective.

Trained Educator and Experienced Teacher (MEd)
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, Principal’s Certificate, and a Master of Education in Curriculum Development and Leadership. For nearly 20 years, she has served as a teacher and department head across multiple educational sectors and provinces, bringing depth, structure, and heart to every space she leads.

Stepping into the roles of Doula and Mentor felt like a natural extension of her work. At her core, Jessica is an educator and guide — and she is especially passionate about meeting individuals exactly where they are, offering steady support as they move through each stage of their journey.

Certified & Insured Association Member
Clients can feel confident working with a Doula and Wellness Practitioner who is fully insured, certified, and actively engaged in professional communities. Jessica is a member of several respected organizations, including the Ontario Doula Association, Evidence Based Birth, Mental Health First Aid, and St John Ambulance. She is also a proud member and alumna of Doula School Canada/International — reflecting her ongoing commitment to ethical, informed, and compassionate care.

Certified Advanced (500hrs+) & Experienced Yoga Teacher (10+years)
As a yoga teacher, Jessica integrates a range of wellness services into her work, thoughtfully complementing her doula support. These offerings are designed to nurture her clients’ overall well-being — supporting their personal growth, physical health, mindfulness practices, and stress management goals in a holistic and sustainable way.

Certified Prenatal, Birth, Postpartum, and Infant & Pregnancy Loss Doula
For clients who conceive and move into parenthood following fertility support, Jessica is able to continue walking alongside them into the next chapter. Because a trusting relationship has already been established — and she understands the nuances of their journey — the transition into pregnancy, birth, or postpartum support feels natural and seamless.

Rather than starting over with someone new, families are supported by a familiar, steady presence who already knows their story and can continue holding it with care

Certified Fertility Support Practitioner (FSP) and Fertility Doula
Whether you faced challenges conceiving — as 1 in 6 couples in Canada do — or your path unfolded in its own unique way, working with a Fertility Support Doula allows Jessica to hold your journey with a deeper, more nuanced understanding. She knows this season can bring an unexpected wave of emotions: hope and uncertainty, excitement and grief, clarity and countless questions.

She also understands that your road to parenthood may not look “traditional” — and that doesn’t make it any less meaningful or extraordinary. However your family comes to be, it is worthy of care and celebration.

As your dedicated support advocate, Jessica walks alongside you at every step — offering education, reassurance, and steady preparation so you feel informed, supported, and never alone in the process.

IVF Parent
As an IVF parent to two young boys, Jessica understands firsthand that not every path to parenthood is simple. Her own family’s journey was layered, emotional, and far from what they initially expected. And while it required resilience in ways she could not have anticipated, it ultimately led to the two children who mean everything to her.

It was through the experience of IVF that her passion to support others through unexpected fertility challenges truly deepened. She knows how overwhelming and exhausting it can feel to navigate appointments, decisions, waiting periods, and a complex medical system. Because she has lived it, she is able to stand beside her clients with empathy and clarity — helping them advocate for themselves and access the compassionate, comprehensive support they deserve.

BIPOC Perinatal Professional
Work with a wellness provider who not only serves a diverse community, but who also brings lived experience as a woman of mixed descent. Jessica understands that navigating the health and medical system can feel overwhelming — especially when it is marked by inequities, gaps in services, and biases that disproportionately impact marginalized communities and people of colour.

With cultural awareness, advocacy, and compassion, she supports her clients in feeling informed, respected, and empowered within systems that have not always been designed with everyone in mind.
